Cultivate Habits of Intention – Creating More Space, Productivity and Satisfaction

Are you overworked, stressed out, and overwhelmed? Do you feel like your list of things to do will never get done? Are you sick of feeling burned out before your day is half over? The secret to gaining control of your life and feeling more at peace is intentionally creating it!

When you begin to intentionally create space in your life, you’ll no longer be tossed in every direction by the storms of life. By learning to focus your energy, you’ll get more done and complete all of the important things that you must accomplish and feel free doing it.

Get yourself a notebook, and each week (preferably on a Sunday) take a look at the week ahead and ask yourself:

  • What do I want this week to look like?
  • How do I want to feel?
  • What do I need to do (tasks and to do’s)?
  • What appointments do I have?
  • What kind of downtime do I want?
  • Who do I want to spend quality time with?
  • What do I want to intentionally create?
  • What can I delegate?
  • What do I want to do for myself?

Get clear on these questions and then block off your time, being committed to staying focused and consistently returning to how you want to feel and what you want to create for your time and energy. Check in with yourself each morning to go over the plan for each day and re-affirm this purpose, making that commitment to yourself.

As you progress, you will reap the benefits of intentionally creating this habit.

5 Benefits to Creating Intentions for Your Week

1. Creates more time for leisure. As you create new habits, you’ll waste less time and make the most of your hours, leaving you more time for leisure activities.

  • When you do, you’ll enjoy a richer experience of life because you have time to pursue your interests and passions more fully. The time you save can be invested in the people and projects that mean the most to you. You begin to experience the life you’ve always wanted to live as a result.

2. Creates structure. If your life is one of chaos, a set schedule will help you bring a sense of order to your everyday life. Your schedule will support you and keep you on track. Your focus will improve because you’ll know that you’re doing exactly what you should be doing at any given moment and creating it with intention.

3. Improved relationships. Those in your life will also benefit from the power of your habit of intention. You’ll have more time to spend investing in the relationships that are important to you.

4. Reduced stress. By creating these habits, you’ll be able to take control of your life. You’ll feel more at ease. You’ll be able to relax when you need to and perform at your best when the pressure is on.

  • When you face challenges and obstacles, your mind will be clear to focus on solutions instead of distractions. By developing a plan, you release the hold that lack of focus and multiple distractions can have on your life.

5. Greater fulfillment. Your ultimate destiny is to achieve the dreams that are in your heart. The only way to see those dreams come to fruition is with careful planning and intentional habits. The structure of your day and the thought process of creating your plan will clarify your thinking and help you determine what’s important.

By cultivating these intentional habits, you can enjoy all of these benefits and many more. Determine how you can minimize distractions in your life, and plan your day to support your dreams and goals. When you do, your life will never be the same!
